Why do I read Fiction? (Personal Essay)
It's not like I don't feel anything or I don't feel enough. It's more like I feel for myself and myself only and not for other people. And since I don't know everyone and I am not entitled to feel all the experiences that the world has to offer for each particular person, I should be obliged to search for a way where in I could feel as much and live as much inspite of the uncertainty of our life lengths. There may be other ways but they're hidden to me except reading. I read the invention of other people's mind simply because I don't have the ability to experience their experiences. And yet, by reading one's work, I get to live his life and get a preview of his thoughts even for one bit of an hour or day. I believe in fiction this way and I hold on to fiction this way. And personally, I think if more people are going to embrace it more than they embrace their shitty ways, they'll be able to prove that magic does exists be it in just a few fifty or hundred pages of a yellow stained, crinkly book.
