Are you limited or limitless? (Personal Essay)

There are times when you feel stuck. So freaking stuck that you might as well live in a room with no windows nor doors. Stuck just like a kite in a tree, with nothing but broken wings, and broken string.


See, you did all you can to break free, despite the fact that you don’t have any retreat. But you do it, anyway. You’re now like a stone falling into an endless abyss without any idea where you’re going or whether you’re even going to survive.


But, I guess, that’s the beauty of it. You have no idea how far you’ll go or how much time left for you, therefore, you can just simply enjoy the process without any pressure. You can even teach yourself how to fly as you plunge deeper and deeper into the abyss.


But, if the abyss is not really endless and you hit it’s bottom, don’t you ever close your eyes. Choose to survive and concentrate on the stars above you. These stars may seem so far away, but if you hold your hand up high, you’ll realize that it’s not impossible to touch them.


If the thought of the stars doesn’t cheer you up, and still, you feel helpless because of the fall, look back and realize that you taught yourself how to fly. You can fly yourself back into the top and get the hell out of that abyss. Break free once more, and remind yourself that your fall is not at all bad, for it taught you how to fly.


Now that you can fly, you can never be stuck, again. You can always find a way to free yourself and surpass any mountain that tries to bound your way. Yes, this is the moment that you have to realize to yourself that you are limitless.


You may be stuck, at first. You may be broken, at first. But look where all these bruises and cuts have brought you. To your own definition---and that’s limitless.


As according to one of the most meaningful quote I’ve ever read, “It’s a force that appears to be negative, but actually shows you how to realize your destiny. It prepares your spirit and your will, because there is one great truth on this planet: whoever you are, or whatever it is that you do, when you really want something, it’s because that desire originated in the soul of the universe. It’s your mission on earth.”


For yes, it may appear like it’s eating you up, but the moment you take a peek on the other side, you’ll realize that it’s actually... building you up.
